The Evolution System in Voidling Bound

Evolution is at the heart of Voidling Bound. Every starter can evolve through a branching tree of intermediate and final forms. Combined with breeding and mutations, the system lets you build a fully custom roster.

How Evolution Works

Every Voidling in Voidling Bound fits into one of seven evolution lines (plus a single-stage Ice line). You start with a base form, level it to 22 to evolve it to the mid form, then level the mid form to 38 to evolve it to the final form. Final forms cap at level 50.

Leveling

XP comes from combat, hatching eggs, and completing research projects. The fastest XP method in the early game is fighting enemies near your level. The fastest XP method in the late game is the post-game Mutagen Farm research, which spawns training dummies that respawn every 60 seconds.

Breeding vs. leveling

You can either evolve a single Voidling by leveling, or breed two parents to get a child that combines their stats. The child is always the base form of the first parent — to get a final-evolution child, you still need to level it up. Breeding is best for stat optimization and mutation inheritance.

Golden Eggs skip the grind

There are 9 Golden Eggs in the game, one per biome. They unlock a final-evolution form without needing to level. See our Golden Eggs guide for coordinates.
