Best Starter Voidling in Voidling Bound
A clear, data-backed recommendation for the best starter Voidling — and why the others are runners-up.
The Verdict
Pick Emberpup (Fire starter) if you are new to Voidling Bound.
Emberpup evolves into Pyrowyrm at level 22, then Infernalisk at level 38. Infernalisk is the best Fire-type in the game and the highest single-target DPS in the early game. The Fire line is also the most beginner-friendly because of its straightforward rotation and forgiving matchups in the Cinder Wastes (the first biome).
Starter Comparison
| Starter | Element | Final Evolution | Role | Early | Mid | Late |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emberpup | Fire | Infernalisk | Single-target DPS | 9/10 | 8/10 | 9/10 |
| Tidefin | Water | Abyssalix | Tank | 7/10 | 9/10 | 8/10 |
| Leafkin | Nature | Worldroot | Healer / Support | 6/10 | 7/10 | 9/10 |
When to Pick the Other Starters
Pick Tidefin if:
- You want a tank-focused playthrough
- You plan to play co-op with a friend who is DPS (Voidling Bound is single-player but the Water line plays similarly to a co-op tank role)
- You want the most durable Voidling in the game (Abyssalix)
Pick Leafkin if:
- You want a support-focused playthrough
- You plan to do all the hardest content (Worldroot is the best healer in the game)
- You don't mind a weaker early game in exchange for the strongest late-game support
What about the demo?
The demo gives you 4 pre-selected Voidlings regardless of your starter choice. The starter only matters once you start a new save file in the full game. Demo progress carries over, but the starter you pick in the full game is independent.
